Hello. I’m Joseph Chiodo, a Tampa FL based Director of Photography and Producer specializing in documentary, unscripted, and branded content.
My work is focused on capturing real moments in a way that feels natural while balancing strong visuals with storytelling that doesn’t feel overproduced. I’ve spent most of my career working in fast moving environments with small crews, where being efficient and adaptable matters just as much as getting the shot right.
I’ve shot series for platforms like Netflix and National Geographic, and recently served as Director of Photography and Executive Producer on the feature documentary Green County (2025), currently being submitted to festivals.

A little more about me...
I grew up working on a produce farm in Pennsylvania, where I developed a strong work ethic early on. That foundation has stayed with me throughout my career.
After graduating from Penn State, I began my filmmaking career in Pennsylvania and Los Angeles before settling in New York City, where I spent nearly 15 years working across unscripted television and documentary projects.
In 2020, I relocated to Tampa, Florida, where I’ve continued working in film and television while building a life with my family. These days, when I’m not on set, I’m usually spending time with my wife and kids.
